Kissankielet/ Cats Tongues

Mummultani löytyi vanhoja Kotikokki ruokaohjekerhon leivonta kortteja ja niitä seltessa löytyi tämä hyvin Joulun aikaan sopiva resepti.

Ainekset:
160g normaalisuolaista voita
80g hienoa sokeria
140g siirappia
1tl kanelia
1tl inkivääriä
1tl jauhettua kardemummaa
1/2tl neilikkaa
25g mantelilastuja
1 1/2tl ruokasoodaa
350g vehnäjauhoja

Tee näin:

7. Leikkaa tangot noin 4 mm paksuiksi viipaleiksi. Paista viipaleita 200 asteisen uunin keskitasolla noin 5-8 min (omiani paistoin 6 min).

Cats tongues

My grandmother had some old baking cards from Kotikokki food club. From those I found this recipe which is fitting perfectly to Christmas time.

Ingredients:
160g normally salted butter
80g fine sugar
140g dark syrup
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cardamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
25g almond flakes
1 1/2 teaspoon food soda
350g all-purpose flour

Do this:

1. Cop butter it into a saucepan and add dark syrup, sugar and spices. Heat with medium heat while mixing until butter has melted.

2. Take the saucepan out of the stove and rub the mixture until fluffy (I poured the mixture into bowl and for a moment I mixed by hand with a whisk).

3. Cut almond flakes slightly and add them into the mixture.

4. Mix together food soda and 100g all purpose-flour. Fold in flour mixture into dough. Add rest of the flour in suitable batches and fold in until smooth. Mix only until the ingredients are mixed.

5. Let dough rest for awhile in the fridge(for about 30 minutes) to make it easier to handle.

6. Bake from the dough two square bars (approx. 3 x 4 cm). Rotate the film around the bars and lining them up with aluminum foil. Let them be overnight in the fridge.

7. Cut the bars into about 4 mm thick slices. Bake slices in the middle level of the oven in 200 C (392 F) degree for about 5-8 min (I baked my own slices for 6 mins).
